The short answer

There is no "Stripchat or Dreamcam" choice for a VR model - you register both through one pipeline. Stripchat VR broadcasts are powered by Dreamcam's camera ecosystem: you register as a Dreamcam model, and at the end of that registration you activate the "Join Stripchat VR" tab (or apply through support with your Stripchat token and nickname). The real decisions are about how you split your hours, which rooms you prioritize, and how you price.

The two platforms, performer-side

Dreamcam (own platform) Stripchat VR
VR roster live ~130 on a weekday night ~145 and climbing
Competition Lower - no platform search, discovery is word-of-mouth Higher - VR badge filter makes every VR model findable
Pricing control Priced tip menus per action + private price bands Per-minute private rate, spy mode, tips
Discovery Weak: no search on the platform itself Strong: site search + VR filter
Audience VR-first users, higher intent Mixed 2D/VR audience, bigger absolute traffic
Extra reach Same feed also sells through SLR and VRPorn.com Only on Stripchat

What the numbers say (measured, from our index)

  • The female segment is the biggest by far (about 12,700 indexed models), with teen-18 and young-22 the largest age bands - generic young-female VR rooms face the heaviest competition.
  • Niches stay under-served: MILF is a few hundred models, trans about 140, male about 270 - in those segments a consistent schedule beats everything else.
  • Toy control is the most common priced interactive action (2,100+ indexed models have priced control actions), and it sells above the median price point.
  • Spanish is the biggest non-English language (~2,500 models) - bilingual flags measurably widen your audience.

Payouts: what to verify yourself

Neither platform publishes a single standard split; cam platforms typically take a meaningful share of tokens and settle per payout period, with minimums and country-dependent methods. Two practical notes from the pipeline:

  • Stripchat VR earnings flow through the Dreamcam side: the Model Hub documents how VR tokens are paid out from Stripchat via your Dreamcam model account - confirm the exact mechanics and rates in your own registration, they are the thing that decides your math.
  • Dreamcam also sells your feed to resellers (SLR, VRPorn.com) at no extra effort - the same show earns from additional frontends. Ask in onboarding how reseller revenue lands in your account.

Signup pages: Dreamcam model registration (models with a Dreamcam camera; if you don't have one, there is a request link) and Stripchat model signup for the 2D side.

Strategy that follows from the data

  1. Register both - one camera, two storefronts, and reseller reach on top.
  2. Treat Stripchat VR as your discovery engine (it has search) and Dreamcam as your high-intent room (VR-native audience, priced menus).
  3. Price with the median in hand: use the measured medians on our statistics page - undercut the median on your first priced actions, never the toy-control ones.
  4. Broadcast into the demand gaps: the measured peak-hours table shows when the roster thins out (best times to cam in VR).
  5. Multi-cam deliberately: the platforms allow it, the audiences don't overlap much - see multi-camming on Dreamcam and Stripchat.
